Unification of Germany was rather rare occurrence in post-Cold War Europe. More common were disintegrations and emergence of new states. /dissolution of Czechoslovakia was reached through negotiations led by then Prime Ministers of both constitutive parts of federal Czechoslovakia, Vaclav Klaus for the Czech and Vladimir Meciar for the Slovak side.
